Instructions for Placemats

Flags Placemat:
Cut red paper 17" x 11" for the
bottom layer. Cut white paper 15" x 9" and glue to
red paper, centering it.
Arrange 4 Flag Cutouts in 2 rows, leaving
enough space down the center for the stars. Place 3 stars in a
vertical row along the left edge of the white paper, along the
right edge and down the center.
Have the placemats laminated at an office
supply store or other business that offers lamination.
Stars Placemat:
Cut red paper 17" x 11" for the
bottom layer. Cut white paper 14" x 9" and glue to red
paper, centering it. Cut blue paper 11" x 7.5" and
glue to the red paper, centering it.
Arrange the stars in 5 vertical columns
by first applying 3 stars along the left edge of the blue paper
(one star in the top and bottom corner and one in the middle).
Do the same for the right edge of the blue paper and then again
down the center.
Apply 2 stars vertically between the first
and second column and again between the second and third column,
making sure that they are staggered between the other rows of
stars.
Have the placemats laminated at an office
supply store or other business that offers lamination.
